Dominicans at the University of Virginia

As a graduating fourth-year student at the University, my life has been profoundly touched by the Dominican Friars.  My discernment of the priesthood, and that of several friends, is a result of the wonderful example that these men set. What a blessing they have been.” – Student, University of Virginia

As a University Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas’ primary mission is ministering to the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Virginia.  We strive to faithfully administer the Sacraments and provide numerous opportunities for students to grow deeper in the Faith.

Under the guidance of the Dominican Friars, Catholic Student Ministry (CSM) has had a profound presence on the University Campus. Previously the Catholic Student Association, CSM provides students with many and varied opportunities for study, worship, and service. It becomes a “home away from home” for students from all over the world during their years at the University of Virginia.
